What works and what is a waste? I need real solutions to target client intrest with out breaking the bank ,and that will create good leads not just junk!

Your marketing approach really depends on the type of business you're in and the specific results you want to see.

One of the pitfalls of many small business owners is spending too much marketing time on passive activity like, noodling with your web site, designing business cards, or thinking about what you want from your business rather than doing the things to actually get it.

You've got to be laser focused on active marketing activity; for instance, I do something called my "10 by 10" where I commit to make 10 marketing/sales calls to my warm market by 10 am at least three times a week. That's something that's still difficult for me to do because I feel awkward making "sales calls," but I know the result of NOT doing it - no revenue, which translates to a lot of stress I don't need.

Depending on what you're selling, SEO helps a lot of online folks. Word of mouth is always better than cold calling but occasionally you will find that strangers will give you a chance just because there is not history. It really depends on what you're after...
