Polygamy or Foster Care?

I am really conflicted here. On the one hand, the polygamist community kind of freaks me out. But on the other hand, I find it horrific that all those children were removed from their families. And is the abuse that goes on in foster care better than the abuse that goes on in the polygamist societies? Also, what about freedom of religion? No one has mentioned that. What do you think?
