Every mom we've ever known and all of us at Hybrid Mom have come to the stark realization that we have to be something other than just "mom". Some of us come to that realization sooner than others, but invariably we all eventually wonder what's next?

One mom told us "I had my "what's next" moment when I looked around my house and at my children and realized I was no longer using my brain or the skills I learned in college, so I started my own business."

I'm jealous because so many ofyou seem to know what you want to do/be. I'm 40 and have no clue. none. zip. zero. I work from home, my stepdaughters are out on there own but need me and dh more than ever sometimes (which is good, I like that). But as far as me and my life, I really have no clue. I want to be happy. I want to make a good home and family for us. Is that a career?

My "What's next" moment came abut 17 years ago. I quit my 60 hour a week management job cold turkey to stay at home with my daughter. I had a really clean house and a happy child but there was something missing. That's when I began searching for a home based business. Back then they were few and far between and I really needed to create something from scratch - but I was determined not to sacrifice my family for any job or business again. I believe that experience was instrumental in my current work as a coach for conscious mom entrepreneurs who are committed and passionate about being a mom and are ready to create a business or career that is a true expression of who they are in the world and supports and works beautifully with every area of their life.

As far as my Buisness, I found what I was pacionate about. All Natural living as it relates to nutrition and the everyday bombardment of chemicals that effect health infesting , undetected in the Average home . Thn I went avidly after the educating myself and getting accredidations so that I could help others. Opon compleating 4 yrs of education in a year in half , truly i beame obsessed and determined.

I found there were tons of people looking for the ansewers I had , and only a few people with the resources to fill it. Big scary decition later work for myself. Because there was no one doing what I can . Away from the coastal areas. In short , find what you can do the niche you fill and go after it with all you have.

This is FANTASTIC as I just went through this! I have worked in some fashion ever since my kids were born to generate extra income, but they were are meaningless to me. I am now doing things that I LOVE and spending time on things just for me! Currently, I am a merchandiser, and Office Supervisor for Jackson-Hewitt, and a Freelance Writer.

I have been an artist since childhood. I was always drawing or painting something. Off and on thru the years I freelanced on the side while working at jobs I hated to bring in money. My moment came when I was working on a freelance job and the woman I did the work for referred me to someone else. I didn't know it at the time, but the man I was doing the freelance work for was so impressed with my work he asked me to work on his new TV show, Krysta's Kingdom.
