I am not a business owner (yet) and there are a ton of questions that I'm sure all of us have. Let's start with the basics.

What is your business / business idea?

Hi Everyone,

I am a mom of 4 and a CPR and First Aid Instructor. I became an instructor years ago and only taught very casually for a while. Several years ago I left working full-time and slowly began offering more classes. Just over a year ago I organized myself, put up a website and have been trying to make a steady business. So far it is going well. I am hoping to eventually start a second home business as a virtual assistant or doing outsourcing work. I currently do a lot of volunteer work from home now and hope to migrate that into paid work.

I am so happy I found this website!! I am the owner and creative designer of CaitiMac Creations. A unique online baby boutique specializing in handmade items for babies and toddlers. I am the inventor of a Fabulous product called the Clingy Cord. It is truly a lifesaver for any parent or child care provider who has a child in the dropping, throwing, losing or just tossing-for-fun stages. It secures your child's precious belongings such as the sippy cup, bottle, security blanket, paicifer, toys and much more, to the stroller, high chair, car seat etc. So when your child decides to toss the item it never hits the dirty floor. Therefore, saving your back, time and energy having to pick the item(s) up over and over again. I offer many different colorful fabrics for boys, girls and the unknown. They make the perfect baby shower gift. I would love for you all to check my website out and provide any feedback you may have. Please tell your friends and family about my Unique Clingy Cords - they will thank you for it!!

I also make shopping cart covers, personalized embroidered koozies and burp cloths, toddler nap mats and sleeping bags. If you are looking for something special and can't find it please let me know.

Thanks and good luck to all mompreneurs!!!

Exactly a year ago I started LoveBlessings.com (http://www.LoveBlessings.com) which is an online baby shower gift basket company specializing in nurturing and organic -- organic baby lotions, organic cotton baby clothes and organic recovery teas for mom, nursing covers, parenting books, infant massage DVD's etc. It's really fun. I love creating gift baskets -- adding my artistic flare to them. And I love the idea of promoting all organic. I got so tired of hearing about all the toxins that were in baby shampoo, etc. You really can't trust large corporations to care about your children's health.,,they're all about massive profit.
Anyway, I find myself spending most of my time marketing and promoting. How about you? And what works best for you?

Thought I should share some images of my baskets.

Hello!

I can't wait to share my company with you all! I created a fun & hip maternity tee and baby stuff company that we named NOKTUP. Yes, it's "knocked Up"! :) I have been in business almost two years now. The idea for NOKTUP came to me and my hubby when I was on bedrest with our youngest son. I designed a fun graphic and added a catchy phrase. Well, now we have many fun graphics and phrases along with a baby line.! So far the majority of my sales have been in retail boutiques but I am hoping to increase my web sales this year. Please check out my website I would love any feedback, suggestions, etc!

I look forward to talking with all of you Hybrid Moms! :)

I own a business called The Flashcard Zoo where I make custom flashcards for preschoolers. I came up with the idea in a fit of creative desperation while trying to come up with a way to keep my toddler on the potty long enough to take care of business. It worked! He had his first poop while learning "D" is for "Daddy". They were such a hit with my friends that they started lining up to purchase a set of their own.

I have a large photo library from which you can choose a set of flashcards that will interest your child. You can also use your own digital photos to create personalized flashcards. This has been the most exciting part of the whole project. Kids LOVE getting flashcards with pictures of themselves and the people and things they love.

These are not your ordinary flashcards. Each 4x6 flashcard is laminated in virtually indestructable 10mil laminate. They have been lab tested under hostile conditions and can withstand chewing, being walked on, being thrown in the bathtub and toilet, used as a frisby and are also great to put under wooden train tracks to keep them level on the carpet. :)

Each flashcard also has a guided writing excercise on the back of the card. The cards are perfect for use with washable markers and white-board crayons for continued practice. They can be used in the bathtub, taken on road trips for entertainment and are fantastic for birthday gifts.

Beautiful flashcards! Cute story of how you came up with it. You need to get on talk shows and tell your story. Moms will love this.
Good luck to you!
