Completely random - which is why I like blogging so much! I write about whatever feels right at the moment. I love that I can share so many things with so many different groups of people in one place.
That's great. I have tried that, but random tends to make me lazy, but a rigorous schedule is too difficult for me to feel creative. I know I need to find a happy medium somehow!
I hear you about the no paper thing! However, I am one of those types that carries a notebook and pen with them everywhere they go. You never know when inspiration will strike!
I love these questions! I started blogging for my business. My website is called ListPlanIt.com, which has over 300 lists and planning pages available. So the theme of my blog is. . . LISTS! Surprise, surprise. Where the website's lists are more like forms, the lists on List Mama Blog are more like Top 10 lists.
My goal is to blog everyday, but I am satisfied if I just blog every other day. I try to blog between 6 and 7 a.m. That is when my mind is functioning best and it is quiet in my house.
What has surprised me is how much I like it! It is fun to have a chance to be creative each and every day and to get to choose whatever I'd like to write about. It is writing more about whatever moves. me
GREAT site - thanks for doing it! I started blogging for my business as well (www.cafepress.com/sugarsprouts) but have found myself quickly addicted.
Are any of you on twitter? I am @sugarsprouts. Log on and "follow me" and I will follow you back! I love how much support is on twitter and the blogs. Keep it up Mommys!!!! We can all help each other.
I wish I had a schedule. I tried once...I was doing pretty good for a while until I realized I was keeping up too many blogs. I had one for my book, one for my coaching practice, and one for me...plus 2 podcasts! I was on overload. I still have my book blog which I post on every once in a while (www.bigsisterguides.com) and I consolidated my personal and coaching blog into one (www.christiecrowder.com) That helped my focus more...I still dont post as often as I would like to. I have been "blog-blocked" for a few weeks (LOL). I did, however, post an entry in my blog here a couple of days ago. I also now have another blog to keep up for my other business, Mommy Perks... but I only have to post to that once a month. Tone and theme...I write like I talk and I look to inspire people with my own personal experiences. What has surprised me... people do read it and they do tell me they like it but I wish they would leave comments on the actual blog instead of sending me an e-mail :)
Honestly, I think I’d blog five times a day except that would be serious overkill. I try and make sure I have something quality every other day (and if I want to, fun stuff in between – check out post of American Idol winner – SOOO cute!).
Mostly I blog about things I see in my daughter, or things in the world around us that could affect her someday. Sometimes I am funny, sometimes sarcastic, and sometimes a bit warped. But I hope you check it out at: http://sugarsprouts.wordpress.com
I basically have a business blog - http://www.idesignstudios.com/blog/ - mostly about web design and small business topics (like marketing, self-promotion, etc.)
I don't have a set schedule, though I try to post at least once or twice a week. I'd like to do a set Tue / Thurs posting schedule, but of course that never happens... ;)
Although it's a business blog, I'd say the tone is pretty light. I write as though I were talking to you (except that I'm more shy in person than in writing, lol).
I'm working on improving both my posting - some posts give general info, but I'd like to write more REALLY helpful posts, lol.
I'm surprised by how much I enjoy it, and also by how long I spend on posts sometimes!
I used to be so erratic with my blogging, but now it's part of my daily life. I usually ruminate over ideas for days. But each morning one of those many inklings transforms into a coherent blog post! I don't post if I don't have anything to say, but being a working mom to three kids, plus a hubby, gives me plenty to write about.
When I first started blogging I used to sit with my mouth drooling over the great posts I saw from other mom bloggers. So witty, creative and spunky! I wondered if I should mirror those styles, but happily found one of my own. The tone of my blog is matter-of-fact, professional and from the heart. I don't think of myself as particularly witty, but I am smart and hopefully that shows! I also have a strong desire to build community and connections through my blog, so I think that comes through as well.
Sometimes, I'm surprised that people are actually reading my blog. I mean, that's the reason it's there, but when I don't post and people start sending me emails asking me where I am, it's kind of neat to know that people care!
I've made a conscious effort to align the goals for my blog with the goals for my family -- I'm all about good, home-cooked food, living within our means, and having fun. And that's what my blog, AnchorMommy, reflects. So really, just going about our day-to-day life gives me the inspiration I need to blog. Oh, and having a good sense of humor helps too. And good editing software for vlogging...but I digress.
Two afternoons a week, my boy attends school which is when I do the bulk of my blogging and video editing. So far, the balance is working out great -- way better than how out-of-whack my life was when I was trying to work in TV news full-time and manage the household full-time!
I'm loving Hybrid Mom, by the way. :-) What a great concept!
All the students wrote and illustrated their own stories. They had a publishing party today. My son is 7 years old and has autism. This is his special ed class. It has taken tremendous courage to get in front of the room and speak. He has come suc...
Between my kids and all the toys I’m playing with lately…I’m not sure where to start…but ok, “tis the season” let’s talk toys.
First a note….I will talk about all toys that I like. I will let you know why I like them…why your kids will like them....
We love The Real Housewives of New Jersey! Hell, we love all "real" housewives for that matter. Today, the definition of housewife has taken on a whole new meaning, as evidenced at our event this past Friday night with the stars of The Real Housew...
