Hi Maachan Mama,

Good for you for considering writing for kids! I took two writing classes:"Write your Life Story" and "The Craft of Magazine Writing on Ed2go.com. I checked on their website and they offer a class called "Writing For Children", that might help you figure out how to approach writing for children. The 2 classes I took were great and they helped me launch my freelance writing career. I have written newsletters, newspaper articles and now I am trying to branch out into writing for magazines.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

Hi all, I'm new to HybridMom and just joined this group. I have a degree in elementary ed, burnt out of teaching, sold my soul to the IT gods, but now I'm inspired to write for kids. I have some ideas from my own experiences being a mom, particularly a working mom. I'm interested in hearing about approaches to writing kids books and steps to getting published. Pit-falls, must-dos, and any other words of wisdom!

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm slowly starting to get back in to writing. I started writing poetry in middle school, but I would love to start writing novels, based on my life as a military wife and my love of American and European history. I always have tons of ideas and can tell a story, it's putting those words on paper that I have the hardest problem.

Hi,
I currently write for a federal newspaper in my full time job, but it's not exactly fullfilling. I've been with the feds for 15 years, so I have a lot of time there and I'm only 33. Leaving the feds is not really an option right now. Although I'm always looking for a new position.

I recently took an online magazine writing course that really has piqued my interest in writing again. I realize for the first time that I can write about things I like -- not what my teachers and bosses want. And to top it off I can get paid doing it.

I already know that I don't take rejection very well and that it will probably stop me in my tracks. So I need to figure out how I will deal with that now. I'm glad to have found this site.
