I know as a writer I have funny little quirks to my creative process. Some are directly linked to pumping out the words and others are strictly behind the scenes. My biggest quirk that I can't seem to overcome is that my first inking must always be in a spiral binder. My husband laughs at me because I always have a binder with me and I have different colour pens. I always write my first draft like that. I have tried to start from scratch on the computer but it is a huge struggle. I rewrite and do all the rest just fine on the computer. I have made peice with the fact this is just me and one of my quirky ways.

I write bulleted lists. Seriously. For the whole story. For a scene. For some dialogue. For just about anything. And then I need to "sit" with it for a week before writing. It's something about percolating the idea that makes it better. Or I like to think it does.

There are some mornings, I can roll out of bed, lace up the sneakers and run five miles without giving my feet, legs or lungs a second thought. Other mornings, I count every footstep. The same with writing. Some days the words just don't flow, but that doesn't mean you can quit. You just have to work at it a bit harder.
Is bigger always better? We mean, do mass and volume naturally equate with grandeur? Well, the masses gathered in person and in front of their TV screens to witness Sidney Crosby score the winning goal this past Sunday night in overtime against the…
