I'm pretty new to the SAHM thing -- this is my third week at home! But every day that goes by, I am more and more confident that I made the right decision. I left a career I loved as a news anchor and producer. I enjoyed the work, but did not love the hours. And I started to feel that life was just too tightly scheduled. Now my toddler and I are much more relaxed and able to enjoy life as it happens. Phew -- what a relief!

I am curious to whether any other SAHMs felt the intense pressure from your husbands to stay at home?

Hello ladies,

To tell you the truth way before i got pregnant, i was thinking about opting out for a while. When I finally got pregnant...i wanted to still work but on a part-time basis so i can still spend time with my daughter. When I told my boss about the idea....oh she immediately said to me " oh, no you cannot do that". So, my husband ( my sweet heart) immediately said...leave your job and spend time with the little one. I was so happy and blessed...but there are going to be a few obstacles but you always keep your head up and stay focussed and you will succeed. I am not gonna lie and sit here and not thought about going back to work...but only to work for myself and I decided open kinderbloom. Not only do i spend time with my little angel but i am still working and I am happy.

Hi. By "opting out" (and I WISH I could afford to be totally a SAHM) I went from a fairly high-powered gov't exec position to something part-time and LOW profile. Many friends think I sold out - I feel happier than ever getting FOUR or FIVE WHOLE DAYS a week with my baby!!!!

I usually second-guess my decision when I'm blurry-eyed tired and in need of some sleep and the day has been filled with toddler challenges...but then I look at my boys and I think I've made the right decision to be home to nurture, train and just be here at home for them. So I know I've made the right decision and I'm just blessed to be able do just that.

I'm always curious about whether women feel they've made the right decision to be a SAHM.........I've never slowed down long enough to ponder the question, although I think I've struck a balance that works for our family. (working for myself, that is) Do any of you ever second-guess your decision to be a SAHM?
