- We are Laura and Julie, sisters who started our company, prettySMART!, LLC, as a way to create products that help solve problems for women in a fun, simple and creative way. Julie is a full-time mother of four children, and Laura is a full-time working mom with two children.
Our product, the Azula®, is a fashionably-designed mat that women sit on at the edge of the swimming pool to keep their bathing suits from snagging! After just two short years, our patent-pending product is already selling in 25 states, 60 stores and in a national catalog, and we can practically see the light bulbs ‘pop' over customers who get the simple genius of our new idea!
- From one mom to another, my words of wisdom are:
- Never stop doing research! Always read up on your business to refresh yourself and stay on top of your industry. Always reach out to other, both those ahead of you and those just starting out. There is always the chance to learn and to teach.
- What makes you hybrid?
- What makes us hybrid moms? We have found a simple solution to an everyday product, and have gone about the marketing, production and business vision with a grounded family and common sense approach. While not glamorous, balance, optimism and the ability to stay friends AND sisters are pretty innovative concepts in these crazy times!
