I am also a mom of premature babies but haven't had to do any PT or OT yet. Although I am considering Spech therapy or at least an evaluation for my middle son. Do you below to any support groups? I could suggest some if you need them?
Maureen
Hello, I am now to Hybrid Moms and I am the mom of two beautiful former prematue babies. I had to take a lot of time off from working because my kiddos needed PT, OT, Speech and many other doctor apts. Anyone else out there go through the same thing?
How are you Kerri? Hope you're enjoying your time here at Hybrid Mom.

About Me:
I am a 38 year old wife and mother of two. I have a BS in Human Resource Development and I have worked in the Automotive Industry, the Financial Lending Industry and have also done part time sales and marketing for children’s physical therapy clinic. Most recently, I work as a Mission Volunteer Coordinator for the March of Dimes Metro Detroit Division. And, I been working with the March of Dimes for over two years as a volunteer and also as the “Mom” of a March of Dimes Ambassador Family. My husband Dave and I have been touched directly by the March of Dimes Mission. We are the proud parents of two singleton preemies, Shea and Colton. Our little girl, Shea was born six weeks early on December 14, 2000, weighing only 2 lbs 8 oz. Our son Colton was born three months early on January 15, 2004, weighing only 1 lbs 15 oz. Both of our kids suffer from a moderate hearing loss and require hearing aids. Both also require special glasses. Both of our kids have also required countless hours of physical, occupational and speech and language therapies. When my children were small, I quit working full time so that I could make sure that they received all of the services they needed to reach their full potential. This has been a financial sacrifice for our family, but totally worth it! Our kids have had many challenges, but I am happy to report that, in part, thanks to the March of Dimes, both are doing spectacular.

From one mom to another, my words of wisdom are:
There are two ways to live your life, one is if nothing is a miracle and the other is as everything is a miracle (Albert Einstein, former premature baby). Take time to notice and appreciate the miracles in your life. Don't worry about what you do not have and appreciate what you've got!
What makes you hybrid?
I am a hybrid Mom because I have taken a very personal and painful life experience and I have used it to help others in my everyday work. I am the mother of two premature children who have faced many challenges. We did not know if they would live, let alone walk or talk. I am doing my life’s work. Two years ago I became a March of Dimes Volunteer and one year ago I accepted a part time position with the March of Dimes as a Mission Volunteer Coordinator. I work to inspire and empower families who have been affected by the March of Dimes Mission. To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
