About Me:
Individual. Female. Wife. Mom. Friend. Sister.

I come from a very large family... I am one of 12 children. Seven girls were born first (I was the 7th), followed by 4 boys and finishing up with 1 more girl. Most times I love being from a big family, especially when we all get together for a special occasion.

I'm married, and we have a daughter in elementary school. She reminds me and continually teaches me that in order to have lots of fun, there are few requirements. I love being her mom and watching her (& me) learn and grow.

I'm a self-employed graphic designer (since 1985) and a newbie in the world of product design/development, with a company I started in 2006. I love the diversity each affords me.
From one mom to another, my words of wisdom are:
Live with intention... Live as if this is all there is.
What makes you hybrid?
I have never really felt like I fit in with lots of other moms... not the "playgroup moms", not the "stay-at-home moms", not the "work-like-a-crazy-person moms", not with the "super moms". Maybe because I started my family later... who knows. So, hybrid is a really good word for me... an extreme mixture, and ever-changing.

Recent Review... WOW!

Mid last week I got an email from Lauri at Mom-to-be-Depot, she said she'd seen my donation to the Mile High T Party (held in Boulder, Colorado) a few days prior. I donated one of my Baby's First Birthday Party & Time Capsule kits to their raffle, and Lauri loved it. She wrote about it in her blog. It was a VERY nice surprise!! Take a look...

FYI... Mile High T Party is an event that benefits the Children's Hospital Foundation here in Denver...it's the brain-child, and organized by Olivia O… Continue

A Mom's Job...

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family roo… Continue

Hey Mary!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
As far as the exercise goes, I do design my workout programs around full body, resistance training moves that cam be done at home...so beginning with a lot of body weight movements (squats, lunges, upper body push and pull moves along with core movements too) that progress to more challenging moves that give you the option to add weights and use stability balls and medicine balls....so for me not knowing what you can and cannot do - I hope this gives you an idea - there are always modifications that can be suggested with each exercise.
As far as your intolerances go - not an issue for I emphasize eating who natural foods with the majority - if not all - foods coming from lean proteins and fresh (or frozen) fruits and veggies....complex carbs are optional and I suggest keeping to a minimum anyway.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi, Mary. Thanks for your note! It certainly is fun and weird being the oldest Mommy in the PTO, isn't it? I have nice talks with the other moms in the Girl Scout troop, so I can relate to people of all ages. I just think it's tough, as you said, as you get pickier with age. And that thing you said about not fitting in? Very cool and very true. You made me feel good. Thanks for that!

I'm back, I just checked out your site, what a terrific idea! I like what you said about living with intention. I am reading a book by Wayne Dyer right now called "The Power of Intention".
