Thanks for the comment Nicole. It's been more than five years since I officially said good-bye to the "white picket fence" life I had, and even though there have been some challenges, I wouldn't have it any other way. My work/life is far from traditional, and sometimes my family tries to gently remind me that maybe I took the wrong path, but at the end of the day...I'm quite happy with everything.
Thanks for your kind words. Italy sounds so great! I use a web hosting company for my e-commerce. If you are wanting to do something to stay in touch with family, by sharing stories, pictures & videos, you may want to use a blog. I currently use Google's Blogger. I will say though, there is a new site...www.fuzzyblueslippers.com that you can post blogs, videos, pictures, buy/sell and network all in one spot. It is a new website so it is just rolling features out day to day.
I will check out your writing, and I will write something, put it somewhere, and ask for your feedback - but not tonight! Thanks again. You seem really super.
Oh, I'm not yet comfortable in labeling myself a "writer" - I write marketing, like resumes and cover letters. I am pretty good at that. I'd like to do more writing, though. I've not been good about allowing myself to just "do it" - from fear that I'm not any good at all. I'm sensitive to criticism, so I suppose I should just write for myself. What do you suggest?
I am an elementary school teacher, writer, mother of one and wife to a submariner in the US Navy. I am taking the next year off from work as we embark on our next military journey, possibly out of the country. In the meantime, I am hoping to begin a freelance writing career! I am passionate about the written word and look forward to exploring my potential in the writing field.
From one mom to another, my words of wisdom are:
Find balance within your life. Giving everything to only one part of your life leaves the rest undernourished and results in a feeling of being unfulfilled. Take a little time each day to pursue something of interest - whether that is a hobby, new business venture or writing that next article. Nurture your body, mind and soul so you can be the person you want to be for yourself, your kids and your significant other.
What makes you hybrid?
I am many things, a mother of one, an educator of many, an aspiring writer and that is only the tip of my iceberg. I have come to realize that we have multiple paths in this life and I'm excited to find out what mine will be!
All the students wrote and illustrated their own stories. They had a publishing party today. My son is 7 years old and has autism. This is his special ed class. It has taken tremendous courage to get in front of the room and speak. He has come suc...
Between my kids and all the toys I’m playing with lately…I’m not sure where to start…but ok, “tis the season” let’s talk toys.
First a note….I will talk about all toys that I like. I will let you know why I like them…why your kids will like them....
We love The Real Housewives of New Jersey! Hell, we love all "real" housewives for that matter. Today, the definition of housewife has taken on a whole new meaning, as evidenced at our event this past Friday night with the stars of The Real Housew...
