About Me:

I'm a Jersey girl living in Orange County with her husband and two young daughters. I'm a mostly stay-at-home mom, but I'm also a part-time teacher and even more part-time writer. I'm particularly interested in family-friendly media, as well as the role the modern media plays in the family. I also like to see myself as an entrepreneur, but the right idea just hasn't hit me yet. You can find me on OCFamily.com as MediaMom, as well as on my own blog, www.themomgig.com.

From one mom to another, my words of wisdom are:

My kids are pretty young, so I don't exactly consider myself wise. I can tell you that one lesson I'm learning is that my job isn't to shield my girls from the world--the challenge is to instill in them the courage to take risks and make mistakes along the way. One other pearl of wisdom--always buy your kid her own seat on a plane, no matter how much it costs.

What makes you hybrid?

As a mom I wear a lot of hats: I'm a teacher, a nurse, an entertainer, a provider, a chauffeur, a playmate, and, even when I don't always feel like it, a role model for my girls. All these different roles within my home, in addition to my work as a high school teacher and writer and my desire to be an entrepreneur, seem to suggest that I can't define myself as just having one job to do.
