Kaira Sturdivant Rouda Learning to Say No

By nature, women are nurturers—the ones always helping others. While it’s admirable that we are always trying to be there for others, between work and family, our lives can get chaotic. In striving to be SuperMom, we often forget how and when to say no. Then, being overcommitted with no time for ourselves, we’re left feeling frazzled, burnt-out, despondent and not much good to anyone. Fortunately,… Continue

Julie Hicks Every Mom Should Try This... Saved Me Tons of Time

I've been seeing commercials for weeks now for that new Finish Quantum (used to be Electrosol) dishwasher detergent and been dying to find some and try it. To be honest I really only wanted to try it because it looked so cool, different and seemed pretty easy to use. Plus the commercials made it sound pretty powerful as far as being able to clean burnt-on food. which is a must in this house. My two teenage girls often don't rinse their dishes before putting them in the dishwasher so sometimes I… Continue

The Toy Insider Mom Generational Toys

Our lives have become so busy...and not just ours, but our kids lives too! When my 13 year old tells me how quickly the year is passing by, I know that there's just too much going on. We can all give advice on finding time (I make it a point to have dinner together every Sunday night, and at least 2 nights during the week) but it's really hard. My youngest loves CSI...so that's become a mom/dad/daughter event every Monday (she only likes Miami, not New York). But what else can you do to keep you… Continue

Maureen Daniels Super moms, let's get organized

As a mom with small kids and a business to run from home…things often get hectic. You’ve seen me in the parking lot with two kids under the arms, and another hugging one leg, while I load the van, talking to someone on my Bluetooth, with the coffee running intravenously through my veins. And everyone seems to think it’s the super powers that keep me going. Oh no, it’s the coffee. But seriously, there is no secret about what has to happen to keep me from tearing my hair out. The only way to get t… Continue

StaSmith Happy Hour?

While out with a few girlfriends last week, we noticed many men and women at the bar. It was 6pm. Obviously, happy hour after work. Honestly, it was a fluke that we were all out together at that time, but it was something that we had planned for some time. Actually, it got us thinking. Within this circle of my friends, we ran the gamut as far as mom 'type'. A few are full-time working moms, one part-time working mom, 2 business owners, and 2 'stay-at-home' moms. As we started to talk about every… Continue
