Okay, so I'm new to blogging. Really new. Just started in the past few days. I don't have an official blog, just here and on another mom/business networking site I belong to. I've decided I really should have a blog on my business website, but thought I'd try the less public means of blogging on these networking groups first to see how it goes. This is my more personal blog as I'm afraid if I just do work-related things I'll end up mixing in a lot of personal stuff. So this is a good place to just type out whatever is going through my mind at the time.
We had Girl Scouts today. I'm my daughters' troop leader. We have 2 different age level troops meeting together since both groups are small. Today was mostly about planning. We need to plan our investiture ceremony and the girls wanted to cook their parents a dinner, so we're combing both at the end of the month. Asking 12 girls ages 7-11 what they want to cook for dinner is like one of those comedy routines ... "What do you want for dinner", "I don't know, what do you want to have for dinner". I'm trying to encourage them to make their own decisions and make their own plans, but I'm not sure they want to do it! Up until this past year we made most of the decisions for the troops, now they need to become the decision makers and they can't agree as a group! Eventually it ended up spaghetti and meatballs, a safe choice that skirts the food allergies we watch for. But the suggestions to get to the final choice ranged from sushi to steak to pizza. Next week I'm taking the whole group snow shoeing. I think I'm slowly going to go nuts. Oh, I forgot to add it's Girl Scout Cookie time! Yup, we're selling cookies right now too. I signed on to do this because the girls wanted to be involved and the only way to have a troop in our town was if we had parents to do it. So I volunteered. I'm slowly learning to say no, but at the time I was thinking I should volunteer for everything when I stopped working full time. I'm eventually going to get it all balanced out, hopefully!
