I did the Lincoln, NE 1/2 marathon. I am training to do the Omaha half in Septemeber and then will do the full marathon in Lincon - May 2009.
I have had trouble with shin splints too - I just got some new shoes that I am liking - the nike moto 5+ - roomy toe box - super soft forefoot - like them and they are way cheaper than the last pair which were the nike vomero - which I loved. Road Runner Sports has a great return/ordering program too - have to pay for their vip membership - but it has been 100% worth it. Good luck with your training!!!

So you run! Awesome. I started running about a year ago and finally ran my first half marathon in May - it was so awesome. I was so excited. Now I am training for a full one - we will see how it goes. Either way the trianing keeps me sane! :) Good luck with all your training!!!

As to the how I got Spoon Sisters to join me in a giveaway, well, I asked. I had something else in mind and asked if they'd be willing to work with me. They countered with a BETTER offer and thus the Clocky giveaway was born.
How do others do it? Not a clue, but I'm thinking it's part readership (if you have a lot, there will be companies that want to reach your readers) and asking. Never hurts to ask!
