Hey Eileen!
Where in Louisville do you live? I have lived in several places. I have a sister that lives in J-town. I am up there every Friday - my son's father lives there so we take Tyler to visit him on the weekends.
Oh and yes as far as Fit Yummy Mummy goes...the workouts are all 15 minutes or less. I know it sounds crazy but that is all it takes. Women have been mislead as far as length and type of exercise go for fat loss. So I have found my passion in helping to show the way...especially helpful for women who just do not have time. Now there is no excuse to "take care of yourself" when it is a mere 15 minutes. I love it and I love the women I work with online. They are the Best! Let me know if you have any questions.

Well, I am with you in the "novice" department. I have been doing a lot of reading and research for how to break into writing freelance, children's books etc....I study different magazines that appeal to me and look for opportunity wherever I can. I'm a big supporter of education and continuously learning, so I've taken the "Independent Study" route and that's my first step! I say, go for it! Life's about living as much as you can in the short amount of time we have here, so while you likely need a thick skin, and should prepare yourself accordingly, don't let fear hold you back from trying :-) You can do anything you put your mind to. It's important to realize that many things come in small steps, but you'll never know how far you can go until you try!

Hi Eileen,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I enjoy writing many things. :-) I have a few children's projects in progress but freelance is a more immediate goal and one I hope will materialize soon. I have more time on my hands to commit to pursuing my goal so we'll see what the future brings. I tend to write what I know, education, children, life of a military spouse, relationships etc... I have posted a few things on helium.com which is a great way to get feedback. My peers have rated me well, so I am hopeful that I will one day find my words in print elsewhere. :-) How about you?

Tax return and new undies...for me it just seemed like any extra money always had to go for something else (new shoes, clothes, etc for the kiddies) and I just made due. So, I made it a rule that if we got a tax return I got new underclothes. It just made sense to me to make it one of my goals in life. It's the little things, ya know? LOL!!

I am so sorry you had a bad day yesterday - and soooo glad that today is better. Wonderful that you and your daughter are sharing such a wonderful new routine. So sweet!
My middle child has been sick since Sunday so I guess the best thing is that he is starting to feel better and can actually keep some food down! :) Poor guy - he has just been miserable.

Great list as well!!! Balance is important and so is the curosity one - people who aren't afraid of new...I like that.

Great thoughts! I love your list, Stacey!

I like the idea of balance - not the wishy-washy kind, but where there's a tension between honesty and kindness, and kindness wins out.

A great sense of humor is vital! Finding fun in most situations (where noone is being harmed) is an important trait. Empathy for me is probably your "understanding". And I can pick up others' feelings easily, so negativity gets me down, as well. I like people who are curious about the world, not afraid to learn new things, and are open to the possibilities.

As I write this, I hope it comes across the way I intend. I have a lot of interests, yet I'm fairly conservative - I can't see ever parachuting or cliff-diving, doing things harmful to my body, mind or soul - but that still leaves a heckuva lot of room for investigating!

Great idea. Hmmmm.....in a friend I guess I am looking for:
- someone who is fun one who likes to have a good laugh and a good time
- not to serious or uptight
- Someone who is easy to talk to
- More positive then negative ( I mean sure we all have our bad days and need someone to talk to - someone to vent to - that is not what I am talking about - but you know those people who will contradict every good thing you have to say with something negative - that just sort of brings me down)
- Kind
- Understanding
That sounds about right - I am think ing of those best friends I moved away from in Wyoming and these are things that I totally loved in them.

OH I try to be graceful not so sure others would say I am graceful. But the main point is that as chaotic as it gets when I go to bed at night I know I am so blessed - so that gets me through it all!! :)

Hi Eileen! - It is difficult making friends, especially as we get older (and luckily pickier). But you know, it's not the quantity, but the quality of those friends that really counts. Like you, I grew up in the midwest (IL) as well. I'm also a late-start mom (just barely under 50 and my daughter is 8). Too bad you're not in Alexandria, KY... I have a sister who lives there. Welcome to the Hybrid Mom neighborhood!

Welcome - love your "about me" write up. Makes me smile!!! I hear you about having no friends I have been in Omaha for about a year and I have about 4 friends, and one is moving.
